What we collect
Aurora Live Map has no accounts and does not ask for personal information. Our web host keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) for security and troubleshooting. Your map settings, such as whether the cloud and city-light layers are on, are saved in your own browser's local storage and never sent to us.
Visitor statistics
We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics. It does not set cookies or use your browser's storage, and Cloudflare states that it does not fingerprint or track individual visitors. It records the page viewed, the referring page and general details such as browser, device type and country, and we only see them as totals. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Advertising and cookies
We use or may use third-party advertising, including Google AdSense, to pay for the site. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings or at aboutads.info. Visitors in regions that require consent will be asked before personalized ads load.
Third-party content
Pages load data and files directly from public services: NOAA's Space Weather Prediction Center, the National Weather Service (U.S. city pages), NASA GIBS satellite imagery, Google Fonts, cdnjs (Cloudflare), jsDelivr and Cloudflare Web Analytics. Each of these receives your IP address and browser details when your browser contacts them, under their own privacy policies.
Children
This site is for a general audience and does not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
